Tuesday 5th February: Safer Internet Day 2019!
Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre the celebration sees hundreds of organisations get involved and join a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively.
The day offers the opportunity to highlight positive uses of technology and to explore the role we all play in helping to create a better and safer online community. It calls upon young people, parents, carers, teachers,
social workers, law enforcement, companies, policymakers, and wider, to join together and help to create a better internet.
Safer Internet Day 2019 will be celebrated globally with the theme:
Together for a better internet!
In school, we will be facilitating this discussion and will be using our experience of technology use in school to shape our views on how we, as a school can 'come together for a better internet'. We will be talking about safe ways to communicate, what to do when someone we don't know tries to interact with us, and also the safe and responsible use of social media (where applicable) - this will include raising awareness of privacy notices, and terms and conditions for various websites, apps, games and services!
